The Single Tax on Circulation (IUC) is due annually by vehicle owners, such as cars, pleasure boats, or aircraft.
This can be paid through various methods, but to ensure you do not forget to comply with this tax obligation, you can use direct debit.
To do so, you need to log in to the Finance Portal with your credentials and follow these steps:
By adhering, "you will receive a notice with the amount and date from which the charge will be made, about 15 days before payment," read in a publication from Notícias ao Minuto.
The notice will be sent by SMS or email to the contacts registered on the Finance Portal, so they must be updated.
Next, you can consult the direct debit authorizations, or make changes, at any time in your Portal das Finanças account, following - Services > Direct Debit > Manage Authorizations.
Remember that the payment of the IUC must be done within 30 days after the end of the legal registration deadline for the vehicle, being made in the month stated on the license plate (except for recreational boats and aircraft, which must be paid in January).
