The value of house rents per square meter increased by 7.2% in August compared to the same month in 2023, and 0.1 percentage points from July to August. The data is from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and indicate year-on-year growth in all regions.
According to the data, in August "all regions showed positive year-on-year variations in housing rents, with Madeira recording the most intense increase (7.7%)", as quoted in Notícias ao Minuto.
Regarding monthly terms, the average value of housing rents per square meter recorded a variation of 0.4% - a value identical to the previous month.
Regarding regions with the highest positive monthly variation, the Algarve and Madeira stand out, with no region showing a negative variation compared to the respective average value of housing rents.
